Almeria airport has three stories to its building. On the ground flow are the arrivals and the main departures which is always filled with activity. A cafe is located on the airports' rooftop which is a brilliant idea for an airport and one can go there after passing the security checks.
The Airport is located just 9 kms from the capital towards the east, and the gulf of Almeria is a mere 500 metres away which is towards the southern area of the sierra Alhamilla. Costa Cabana and El Alquain are close to the airport as well.
Taxis can be hired from outside of the airport arrivals area. The rank is always lined with taxis that are waiting to be hired. Tourists wanting to hire taxis can also check for the prices from the taxis to their destination area.
There are no train transport services at the Almeria airport, and a tourist will have to make use of the private car hire or the bus service from the airport.
The bus service that begins from the Almeria airport can be availed off from outside the terminals arrival area. The L-20 bus stops at all popular destinations and is a cheaper option for those not wanting to hire a private vehicles. The bus service begins early morning and the frequency is within 50 minutes.
The last bus service leaves at 22:30 from the airport. If you're going further than Almeria, then one can change their bus at the bus depot.
The car park at the airport is located in the front of the terminal of the airport. It is not a huge car park and can accommodate only 319 cars. Before being used as a car park area, the place was empty and not used for any purpose. After realising that they were loosing out on making some income with the area, it was turned into a car park. The fare charged for parking ones car here is affordable and has not been increased for a while.
