Situated in the Canary Islands the airport of La Palma which belongs to the island of La Palma is only 8 kms from Santa Cruz de la Puerto.
The airport is called Aeropuerto de La Palma in Spanish. The airport is not as large as the other airports of the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife. The airport at La Palma is looking to expand its structure and hence the new terminal building is being built. Along with the new terminal, an extended apron and a new control tower is under construction, all this to cope up with the booming tourists visiting this region.

Since the island is small there is no need for train service but you should try hiring a car from La Pama airprt so you can visit all the villages.
Since the island of La Palma is comparatively smaller, there are plenty of bus services from the airport to the various parts of the island and will take you to the centre of the city centre. Outside the main terminal building is from where one can get the no 8 bus which has a frequency of every 30 minutes. The bus service begins at 7:15 am and the last bus is at 00.15 am.

With the new terminal building being constructed, the new building will have a capacity of almost 1276 car parking slots. The parking areas will be in the aircraft apron side and is at the bottom of the extension. Two floors of the building will be reserved for car parks. Only one of the floors is open at the moment which has 685 parking spaces. The first half hour of parking is free, and the rates apply from the second half hour onwards.
