Only 8 kms from the city of Palma de Mallorca is the Palma Airport.
It is considered to be the third busiest airport in the whole of Spain. The airport at Palma is very modern; there are four boarding areas in the main terminal of the airport. Each of these modules of (A, B, C and D) have their own cafes, shopping areas, arrivals and departures areas. In 2008 the airport had almost 22,832,865 passengers along with 193,357 flights. A majority of the tourist are from Germany, Spain and Great Britain.
The taxi rank at the Palma airport is outside the gate D arrivals hall. The taxi service is easy to locate and easy to use as well. Once you leave the Palma airport arrivals you will find the taxi rank in front of you. The taxis do not allow more than 4 passengers and that includes children. The airport has 5 parking schemes, 2 types of long term scheme, a short term scheme, express parking and VIP parking. The major car park area is over 6 floors and can be accessed through a tunnel which is from the fourth floor of the airport. 700 parking spaces are for the car hire companies which are situated on the ground floor of the arrivals.
The express car park has 36 spaces, the short term has 3,180 spaces and the long term has 1600 parking lots.
