Considered to be the eight busiest airports in Spain, Valencia airport has seen a huge influx of passengers and flights over the past few years.
This has been mainly due to the arrival of many low cost flights from different parts of Europe and investment into property by foreigners in Valencia and along the Costa Blanca. Though majority of the passengers flying into Valencia are still through domestic flights, carriers flying down from UK, France, Germany and Italy have been on the increase.
In 2008, the airport accommodated over 5 million passengers and 96,000 flights. The number of passengers using this airport has only being increasing since the year 1995. Almost 60% of the airports traffic is from the inland flights while the rest of the 40% are visitors from other European countries like, France, Italy, Germany and UK.
The taxi service rank is situated opposite the arrivals terminal at the Valencia airport. If you are looking for a journey that is more comfortable and cheap, utilise the private airport transfer service. Also, if you are travelling in a group of 4 or more, you will need the service of another taxi since the taxis at the airport do not accommodate more than 4 passengers.
The Valencia Metro Trains have underground lines that connect the airport, city centre and the port. The Valencia train station is located on the ground floor of the flights terminal.
If you are looking for cheap transit from the airport, then the bus shuttle service is the answer. The Valencia Airport bus service has both the public transport as well as the private shuttle service. Bus services run between the Valencia Airport and the city centre, the resorts of Costa Blanca and other resorts near the Alicante Airport. The bus service usually runs in a loop and has over a dozen stops.
Valencia Airport parking has 2 parking sections and can cater to around 2,600 vehicles. Since the parking is located quite far from the main terminals, a bus service runs between the parking area to the terminals, arrivals and departures.
